Stolen Truck found north of Toronto but the owner still missing

The missing truck of Timothy Bosma was found on a street in Kleinberg, but Tim’s whereabouts are still a mystery. Investigators and cops investigating this scene later removed the truck from the street. Tim went missing on May 6, 2013 when persuading two strangers to buy his truck by giving them a test drive. Tim’s family was worried because he didn’t arrive home that night, as a result they called the Police and the hunt for the two strangers began. Dellen Millard, age of twenty seven, as a suspect of this crime was arrested and charged for the disappearance of Tim. Dellen was also charged with to the act of theft over $5000 and forcible confinement. Police have been aware and are kept posted outdoors of Air Hangar 53 at Waterloo Airport as Dellen’s family runs Millard Airlines which flew out of Toronto Pearson airport. Police are not making the plan public but the idea is there and the police are currently working on a search warrant and are planning on searching the suspected facility where Tim might be on this coming Monday. The facility is not Dellen’s house as it was already searched. It is ironic that Millard’s profile states that he is the youngest boy to fly both in an airplane and helicopter solo on the same day making it easy for him to access a plane and use it to his advantage to bring or hide Tim anywhere. Police are trying to incorporate a second suspect as the truck was spotted in Toronto but cops seem to find nothing so far, looking at surveillance cameras. After the police watched the surveillance tapes it led them to search an industrial area, but still found nothing. Witnesses are saying that the second suspect was about 5’9” and was wearing a red hoodie when he was last spotted in Toronto. Tim’s wife Mary Bosma is trying to make her family’s pain public in hope that it will make the criminals drop her husband off at home safe.
Discussion Questions
1) What should be the minimum age to fly a helicopter or an airplane as young teenagers may not understand the complexities of the responsibility that comes with such privileges?
2) Should there be any laws and a governing body overlooking on-line sales as it poses a risk for both the buyers and sellers? If so create laws that would protect any seller like Tim from being endangered.
3) What kind of laws should be incorportaed that require any flying vehicle to be registered and recorded for each of their flights?

In response to your first comment, I believe that the minimum age should be much higher than it is today. I know that Transport Canada’s minimum age to fly a recreational aircraft is only 15. This age seem extremely low as it is just one year younger than the required age to write your g1 test. What concerns me is that at 16, one is not trusted to drive on their own, but i able to operate an aircraft on their own. Although many would argue that the age should be relatively higher than this, this age is suitable for those aspiring to becoming pilots or joining the military. To become a pilot one needs several hours which in turn costs lots of money. I believe the reason why the age is so low is that it takes time for one to earn their flying hours and not everyone can afford to take them right away. With that being said, I believe the age is still a little bit too low and should be raised to at least 18.
